Comparing the creamatocrit of human milk before and after long-term freezing

Abstract Objectives The creamatocrit is a simple technique for estimating the lipid content of milk, widely adopted clinical and research purposes. We evaluated effect long-term cryogenic storage on human milk. Methods Frozen thawed milk specimens ( n = 18) were subjected to technique. reanalyzed after (10 years at <70°C). correlation between pre- post-storage values was tested, their differences analyzed using Bland–Altman plot. Results highly correlated r 0.960, p < .0001). plot revealed positive association means (Pitman’s test 0.743, .001), suggesting presence nonconstant bias across range. Long-term may introduce subtle in replicating pre-storage values. Further should evaluate whether this statistically correctable.
